1. Ballot: a sheet of paper or a card used to cast or register a vote.
The voters lined up for miles and when they finally got to the polls they casted the votes on the ballots.
2. Watchdog: organized or functioning as a watchful guardian.
The prisoners were watched and were put under surveillance by the watchdog-like-guards.
3. Temperamental:moody, irritable, or sensitive
The student was very temperamental during his midterm finals.
4. Epicure: a person who enjoys eating and drinking and who is very particular in choosing fine foods and beverages; gourmet
The high class citizen was a devotee for high end sophisticated foods, you could nearly consider him a epicure.
5. Aquiline: curved like eagle’s break.
The hook was perfectly curved like a aquiline of a eagle’s beak.

4. Limn: draw or paint
A great artist can limn the most complicated pieces onto a canvas.
5. Adduce: produce evidence for
The prosecutor adduced evidence that caused the accused to be acquitted.

The affectation of the business was over dramatic, they could not possibly clean a house in under 30 minutes.
2. Audacity: boldness or daring
The kids had the audacity to ask once more after they had been denied twelve times.
3. Pompous: lofty or high-flown
The professor was pompous in attitude because he had once taught the governor in elementary school.
4. Soiree: an evening party
The guests had complimented the host on the wonderful social soiree
5. resplendent: very bright, vibrant, shiny; splendid
The painting was resplendent in it’s bold colors and many mediums.

2. Groggy: Dazed and weakened.
After a whole day working at the fair, Darren was as groggy as someone who got thirty minutes of sleep.
3. Hearken: To give attention to what is being said.
The students hearken as the teacher gave the lecture about the Revolutionary War.
4. Malevolent: Wishing harm or evil onto others.
Jane was malevolent when she was hoping for the first place winner to trip as they were accepting the award.
5. Aesthetic: Having a sense of the beauty of a object
Her aesthetic towards nature caused her to go hiking every other Sunday.
